We are quite simply delighted to offer this wonderful Mini, you really will struggle to find a Mini of this calibre anywhere.
It is one of just 200 35th anniversary Coopers that were made in 1996, to commerate when the first Cooper hit the roads in the glamourous time of 1961. Back then it was an Almond Green model that was used for the launch, so it was decided to re-discover that colour for this model, which was matched with a porcelain green leather interior. The interior is trimmed with white piping, and also fitted with green leather steering wheel and gearknob.
In the original and very rare sales brochure for the 1996 model launch (included with the car), it states "The best fun you can have on four wheels" - how true!
The car is in what can only be described as superb condition throughout - not a semblance of the dreaded mini rust anywhere. The car looks as fresh as a daisy and has clearly been polished, cherished and carefully protected.
The history file is complete and from day one, and the car will be supplied with a new MOT and is taxed until the end of July. The spare keys are present too. Every old MOT from new is present as is the original service book with an amazing 13 entries in it up to 65,331 miles (current mileage 67,000 miles). The first seven stamps were all main dealer, and I suppose this was until there weren't any more main dealers for them. Also present is a bill from July 2008 for a rebuilt gearbox and new clutch at a cost of £1,297, and a hilo kit was fitted at this point, too. So mechanically you can see the car has been looked after exceptionally well.
When new, these cars sold out in a matter of days - a fact borne out by some other papers with it. Its' original bill of sale new shows a sale price of £8,786, and two years later it was sold by John Cooper Garages (bill again supplied) for £7,975! Now how many cars can you name that sold for just £800 less than their new price when they were two years old? I think this car is not just a wonderful object to own and enjoy, but has already proved its' worth as an investment. It is definitely for the more discerning Mini owner who appreciates the finer things in life.
This car is not just extremely rare, it is also very beautiful, which is a combination not achieved by many cars you will look at.
As you will see the number plates fitted are incorrect, and standard ones also come with the car.
